Terms of Service

Effective September 1, 2026

Welcome to SigilQR. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SigilQR platform at sigilqr.com, including brand registries, collector accounts, digital passports, QR verification, and the marketplace (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What SigilQR does

SigilQR provides digital-identity infrastructure for physical collectibles: brands register items, each item receives a unique identifier and a cryptographically signed QR code, and anyone can view an item's public passport to check its registration status, provenance events, and lifecycle. SigilQR records and displays information supplied by brands and collectors; it does not physically inspect items. A passport shows an item's registration history — it is not a guarantee, appraisal, or warranty of the physical item's condition, value, or legal title.

2. Accounts

  • Brand accounts create and manage a registry (a "tenant"), mint collectibles, and may list items for sale.
  • Collector accounts may claim unowned items by scanning the item's official signed QR code, hold items in a personal vault, and use marketplace features as they become available.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live).

3. Claims, ownership records, and transfers

Scanning an item's signed QR code proves possession of that code at the moment of scan. Claiming records you as the item's current holder within the SigilQR registry. Registry records are a ledger of platform activity; they do not by themselves create, transfer, or extinguish legal ownership of a physical object, and burn events are permanent and irreversible. Disputes about physical items are between the parties involved; we may, at our discretion, correct registry records in cases of demonstrated fraud or error.

4. Marketplace

Listings, prices, and item descriptions are supplied by sellers. Unless expressly stated, SigilQR is not a party to transactions, holds no escrow, and does not guarantee that a seller will deliver a physical item. Settled sales are recorded permanently. Where card payments are offered they are processed by Stripe; SigilQR does not store card numbers.

5. Blockchain features

Some registries may mint items as tokens on public blockchains. Blockchain records are public, outside our control, and irreversible. Nothing on the Service is investment advice, and collectibles are not offered as investments.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • counterfeit, copy, or misuse QR codes or signatures, or misrepresent an item's authenticity;
  • register items you do not have the right to register, or upload content you lack rights to;
  • probe, overload, scrape at scale, or attempt to bypass security or rate limits;
  • use the Service for anything unlawful, deceptive, or infringing.

7. Content

You retain rights to content you upload (names, descriptions, photos). You grant SigilQR a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host and display that content as needed to operate the Service, including on public passport and marketplace pages. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

8. Fees

Core features are currently free. We may introduce or change paid plans or transaction fees with reasonable notice; continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SigilQR and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or create risk for the Service or its users. Registry history (mint, transfer, burn, and sale events) may be retained after termination to preserve the integrity of other users' provenance records.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email, and the "Effective" date above will change. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
